Don't Miss the Good Stuff

I've said it before... if you insist on driving everywhere you go, you miss the good stuff. On a walk down Fairpoint Dr. recently, Margaret decided to take some photos of the unique garden decor of one of our neighbors. "There are some very interesting people in Gulf Breeze," Margaret says. Sunflower of Spring

Our sunflowers are starting to bloom here at the end of May, a sure sign of the approaching summer. Margaret took this one, a photo that demonstrates beautifully why the flower deserves its name.

Ah! Sunflower

Ah Sunflower, weary of time,
Who countest the steps of the sun;
Seeking after that sweet golden clime
Where the traveller's journey is done;

Where the Youth pined away with desire,
And the pale virgin shrouded in snow,
Arise from their graves, and aspire
Where my Sunflower wishes to go!

Hydrangea

The city of Gulf Breeze will soon be filled with boisterous French Hydrangeas blooming in a kaleidescope of colors. These are a bit early to the party, but their charming youthfulness is most welcome.

White Camellia

The camellias are just about done blooming, I will miss them...
